Description:
A fine George III mahogany serpentine compact dressing commode. The well figured top with serpentine front and applied moulded edge, over an arrangement of four graduated oak lined, cock beaded drawers. The drawers are fitted with cast swan handles in the Chippendale manner and beaded back plates.
The top drawer fully fitted. When opened initially revealing a baize lined brushing slide and when retracted, an arrangement of open and lidded compartments and a central mirror rising on a retractable ratchet support.
The chest has a lower bottom moulding, is supported by four shaped bracket feet and retains excellent original colour and patina.
